Cryptocentrus is an Indo-Pacific genus of long-bodied gobies.

Characters (from Smith 1960): 85–125 ctenoid or cycloid scales. Head and nape naked or scaly. Gill opening wide. Pelvic fraenum strong. 9–13 soft rays in dorsal and anal fins. Caudal longer or shorter than head.
