Drymelater

Drymelater is an eastern Australian genus of click beetles with simple tarsi and pectinate antennae in males (Calder 1996).

Characters (from Calder 1996): Vestiture moderately dense; eyes small, non-protuberant; mandibles bidentate; labrum fully exposed at base; frontoclypeal region flattened anteriorly, gradually sloping to base of labrum; antennae with 11 antennomeres, antennomere 4 shorter than antennomere 3, antennal sensory elements beginning on antennomere 3, antennae pectinate in male, pectinations beginning on antennomere 4, arising from apex of each antennomere; labial palp oblong-ovate; lateral margins of prothorax entirely carinate; prosternal spine elongate, more or less horizontal, stepped immediately behind procoxae; prothoracic hind angles unicarinate, not strongly divergent; anterior margin of scutellum well defined, sharply angulate and steeply declivous to prescutum; elytral striae well defined, elytral apex spinose along suture; mesocoxae relatively wide apart, open to both mesepimeron and mesepisternum; tarsi simple, hind tarsi longer than hind tibiae, hind tarsomere 1 shorter than 2–4 combined; tarsal claws without basal setae.
