Gobiidae

Copley’s wormfish Gunnellichthys copleyi, from Smith (1911).

Belongs within: Gobiomorpharia.
Contains: Rhinogobius, Vaimosa, Gobius, Cryptocentrus, Stigmatogobius, Oxyurichthys, Glossogobius, Coryphopterus, Bathygobius, Acentrogobius, EviotaGobiodontinae, Parioglossus, Amblygobius.

The Gobiidae are a diverse clade of gobies, mostly small fish with five branchiostegals and a single epural, supported by molecular data (Thacker 2009).
