Helea is a genus of pie-dish beetles in which the pronotal flanges are extended around the front of the head (Matthews & Bouchard 2008).

Characters (from Matthews & Bouchard 2008): Length 10–37 mm. Flightless. Pronotal disc usually with a median costa or spine. Pronotal flanges extended forward and inward to approach one another or meet above or in front of head. Elytral flanges generally wide. Metaventrite along midline shorter than first ventrite.
