The Hyociina are an Australasian group of tenebrionid beetles found in coastal and arid regions (Matthews & Bouchard 2008).
Characters (from Matthews & Bouchard 2008): Antennae long or short, segments more or less densely setose. Sides of pronotum and elytra covered with short recumbent setae. Protibia gradually widening to apex, apically sometimes almost parallel-sided, outer edge without large teeth. Intercoxal process of first ventrite broadly rounded apically.
