Hypaulax is a genus of wingless stenochiine beetles found in arid regions of Australia (Matthews & Bouchard 2008).

Characters (from Matthews & Bouchard 2008): Length 12–26 mm. Clypeolabral membrane concealed. Gula with one or more deep transverse grooves. Pronotum with deeply impressed groove along posterior edge, sides not explanate. Wingless, metaventrite along midline shorter than first abdominal ventrite. Male protibiae strongly curved at apex. Ventral surface of apical tarsomere with two distinct rows of setae. Preapical tarsomere not lobed, not cupuliform.
