Kloedenellidae

Belongs within: Platycopina.

The Kloedenellidae are a group of ostracods known from the Silurian to the early Carboniferous, characterised by a bipartite hinge with a distinct stragular process (Adamczak 2003).

Characters (from Adamczak 2003): Right or left valve larger, hinge bipartite and separated anteriorly or posteriorly or both from contact groove, stragular process distinct; brood chambers always separated by an inner partition (limen); adductor muscle scar pattern a random aggregate.
