Leiradira

Leiradira violacea, from Kipling Will.

Belongs within: Pterostichitae.

Leiradira is a genus of ground beetles found in eastern Australia, characterised by a deep body, heavy head with relatively long and acuminate mandibles, geniculate antennae, mentum lacking a tooth, and inner lobe of maxilla lined with long slender teeth.
