Limnocythere inopinata, copyright Zoologische Staatssammlung Muenchen.

Belongs within: Cytherocopina.

The Limnocytherinae are a group of freshwater ostracods in which the antennula has a relatively long distal segment and broad coalescence of the aesthetasc and its adjacent seta, and the maxillule bears three to four long external distal setae on the proximal segment.

The Timiriaseviinae are a group of freshwater ostracods characterised by an antennula with a relatively short distal segment and a maxillule with only a single minute external distal seta on the proximal segment or without such a seta.
