Miscogastrinae

Male Halticoptera laevigata, photographed by Thomas Hoffmeister.

Belongs within: Pteromalidae.
Contains: Miscogaster.

The Miscogasterini are a group of parasitic wasps whose known hosts are Diptera burrowing in or mining soft tissues of plants. The group is somewhat poorly defined, but its members generally have complete notauli and a petiolate gaster (Bouček 1988).
