Ophthalmothrips

Belongs within: Idolothripinae.

Ophthalmothrips is a genus of small thrips found in the Old World, living at the base of grass tussocks (Mound & Palmer 1983).

Characters (from Mound & Palmer 1983): Small, with rather slender bodies. Eyes prolonged posteriorly on ventral surface of head. Abdominal tergites each with only one pair of wing-retaining setae.
