Oxyurichthys is an Indo-Pacific genus of gobies found in weedy, turbid inshore waters (Smith 1960).

Characters (from Smith 1960): Compressed, low crest along nape. 50–100 ctenoid scales, some on nape, head naked. Uniserial large teeth in upper jaw, 2–4 in lower. Gill opening little exceeds pectoral base. Pelvic fraenum strong. 12–13 and 12–14 anal soft rays. Dorsal spines filamentous in males. Caudal exceeds head.
