Proisotoma minuta, copyright Philippe Garcelon.

Belongs within: Isotomidae.

Proisotoma is a genus of isotomid springtails bearing a well-developed furcula with all segments distinct and a reduced number (nine or fewer) of ventral manubrial setae. It is primarily defined by the absence of derived features of related genera and may be divided between a number of disparate groups (Christiansen & Bellinger 1980b).
