Promicromonosporaceae

The Promicromonosporaceae are aerobic to facultatively anaerobic bacteria that typically form a substrate mycelium (Nouioui et al. 2018).

Characters (from Nouioui et al. 2018): Aerobic to facultatively anaerobic, Gram-stain positive, acid-fast-negative, forming substrate mycelium that fragments into irregular elements or presents as cocci or short rods. Peptidoglycan of A4α type. Whole-cell hydrolysates containing L-lysine as diamino acid and combinations of different sugars. Predominant menaquinone MK-9(H2) or MK-9(H4), sometimes with MK-8(H2) or MK-8(H4), major polar lipids DPG and PG; PI and PIMs may occur. Branching fatty acids of iso– and anteiso-type, notably iso-C15:0 and anteiso-C15:0. Mycolic acids absent. G+C content around 70–80%.
