Rhytisternus is a genus of ground beetles found in Australia and New Zealand, characterised by the presence of functional wings, the lack of a scrobal seta on the mandibles, antennae with the basal three segments glabrous, elytra with the third interstice impunctate, and striolate pro-episterna.
