Saragus is a genus of burrowing pie-dish beetles found in southern Australia. Species are not seen foraging above ground (Matthews & Bouchard 2008).

Characters (from Matthews & Bouchard 2008): Length 10–20 mm. Flightless. Dorsal surfaces rarely with erect bristles, without scales or pilosity. Eye entire. Antennal sensilla spread over most of distal segment surfaces, apical segment not reduced. Mandibles apically bidentate. Mentum not enlarged. Disc of pronotum more or less evenly convex. Pronotal flanges not extended over head. Metaventrite along midline shorter than first ventrite. Protibia without teeth along outer edge, but sometimes crenulate. Forespur enlarged, longer than first tarsomere.
