Scitala

 Shiny pasture scarab Scitala sericans, from Insects of Tasmania.

Belongs within: Melolonthinae.

Scitala is an Australian genus of black or brown chafers lacking dorsal setae and with striae on the elytra paired so alternate intervals differ in width. The shiny pasture scarab S. sericans is a common pasture pest in southeastern Australia.
