Sympetes is a genus of pie-dish beetles found in Western Australia. Species are found in arid regions, sheltering in mammal burrows during the day and emerging to forage at night (Matthews & Bouchard 2008).

Characters (from Matthews & Bouchard 2008): Length 8–27 mm. Flightless. Pronotal flanges not extended over head. Disc of pronotum usually with median carina. Prosternal process flattened, not received in mesoventrite. Elytral suture nearly always strongly raised, forming median carina. Metaventrite along midline shorter than first ventrite. Forespur usually long.
