Belongs within: Borsoniidae.

Typhlomangelia is a genus of small conoids known from deep-water basins of the North Atlantic and Antarctic oceans (Powell 1966).

Characters (from Powell 1966): Shell rather small, 12–14 mm, with tall spire of medially angulate whorls, and broadly ovate body-whorl, deeply excavated to relatively short, flexed, unnotched, spout-like anterior canal. Protoconch cylindrical of two whorls, the first depressed-globose and smooth, the second taller with lightly convex sides developing low obscure axials over last half whorl. Adult sculpture of numerous threadlike flexuous axials thickening somewhat from periphery to lower suture; whole surface crossed by dense spiral lirae. Aperture ovate-pyriform; outer lip thin edged, with moderately deep U-shaped sinus, its apex on the lower half of the shoulder slope; inner lip excavated, lightly callused but without processes. Colour uniformly white to pale buff. Operculum narrowly leaf-shaped, with terminal nucleus. Radula with marginals only which are long and very pointed, gradually widening at base.
